映画『Metallica: Through The Never』は、『プレデターズ』や『アーマード武装地帯』で知られるニムロッド・アーントルが監督を務めており、 メタリカのカナダでのライヴ映像を題材としながら、デイン・デハーン演じるバンドのローディが世界の終末かと思われる出来事に巻き込まれていくというものになっている。
また、『Metallica: Through The Never』のサウンドトラック、『Metallica - Through The Never (Music from the Motion Picture)』も 9月25日（水）にリリースされることが決まっている。 サウンドトラックのフォーマットは2枚組CDで、アナログ盤も別途リリースされる。
